At our first Community of Practice event on Tuesday 23rd October we heard from Natalie Hemmings, an Economic Advisor for the Scottish Government, on how their inclusive growth diagnostic and asset register can be used to identify both challenges and opportunities for delivering inclusive growth in different regions and localities.
We also heard from Julie McLachlan, a Policy Manager at North Ayrshire Council, on how North Ayrshire Council was able to use the diagnostic to identify opportunities to deliver inclusive growth and to prioritise the actions to be taken to make growth in the area more inclusive.
Alasdair Morrison, Head of Regeneration at Renfrewshire Council, also spoke on how the National Manufacturing Institute for Scotland can be used to deliver inclusive growth at the project level.
Finally, we broke into discussion groups to discuss in more detail the opportunities and challenges practitioners face in delivering inclusive growth at both the regional and project levels.
A summary of the event, along with slides, will be posted soon.
It was a great event, and very well managed on the day. I definitely encourage followers of the blog who didn’t get along to make it to the next one!
